We are excited to announce an internship partnership with one of our existing clients, a multi-million-dollar non-profit organization in need of weekly updated Excel reports and SQL-based data analysis. These reports will support two of their largest departments. The organization has asked eXcelerate to prepare students to extract the required data from SQL, update existing Excel reports on a daily or weekly basis, and provide detailed analysis and KPI tracking for senior management.
Eligibility & Prerequisites
To be considered for the internship, students must first complete the Beginner to Advanced SQL and Excel Data Analysis training programs, (see email). Throughout the training, instructors will assign end-of-boot camp group projects. Participation in these projects is required for internship consideration, as they form a core part of the selection process.
Internship Selection & Structure
Between 12 to 16 interns will be selected.
Notifications will be sent the week of December 22nd.
Acceptance is not guaranteed.
Each intern group will be paired with a program manager/mentor and assigned to support either the HR department or the Food & Beverage division (sales, operations, and inventory). Interns will be responsible for extracting newly requested SQL data each week, updating Excel reports, and presenting KPI-based insights.
Capstone Project
At the conclusion of the internship, each group will extract and analyze first-half fiscal year data, update a board-directed PowerPoint deck, and present their findings to the COO and Director of Personnel.
Program Benefits
This internship offers students the chance to:
Apply SQL and Excel skills in a real-world environment.
Gain hands-on exposure to the daily responsibilities of a data analyst.
Develop experience creating executive-ready reports and KPI analyses.
Present findings directly to senior leadership.
The internship is unpaid, but it provides invaluable professional experience and the skill set to be day-one ready for a future data analyst role. While employment is not guaranteed, the purpose of this program is to immerse students in the true work of a data analyst. Instead of asking “What does a data analyst do?”—you’ll get to live it.
Registration closes Tuesday, September 30th at 5:00 PM EST.
